Sculpt: Robot mode. 3 out of 5. Feet and backpack could be smaller. Face is good, but could be more screen accurate. Lower legs could be slimmer.
Sculpt: Car mode. 5 out of 5.
Articulation: 4.5 out of 5.
Paint: 5 out of 5.
Transformation: 4.5 our of 5. Good, but could be smoother.
Accesories: 3.5 out of 5. Has toy accurate rifle and hand missiles, but no cartoon accurate rifle.
Has clip on rear gun for car mode.
It would be better if the rear gun was permanently attached and stored.
He's missing his pistol.
Playability: 4 out of 5.
Overall: 29.5/35

I purchased this long before MP-39 was even announced, and even after seeing the official Sunstreaker, I am perfectly happy with Sunsurge. The transformation is a bit difficult, but the end result is an alt mode that looks great and a robot mode that stands up great with my other MPs.

If you don't really care for the Takara version, and the Omnigox is not your thing, this is the better Sunstreaker.
Only complaint really is the cheaper plastic they used for the mold.

My first third party transformer, and man did I pick a jem! Though the instructions can look a bit confusing and require a magnifying glass at times, things weren't hard to figure out. Glad I got the Sun(streaker) piece> Spot on, and lots of goodies. This thing is impressive. Been looking at more Badcube stuff already, but I'm going to test some other waters as well. Recommend this one!!

I got this guy fairly recently (couple months before MP-39 was released). At first I was really bummed that I didn't wait, as I was marveling at the bells and whistles on MP-39. Then I started looking at the MP-39 picture more closely and realized that I may have made the smarter purchase.
Here is what I see from the pics of MP-39 compared to my Sunsurge:
Pros MP-39:
Much better feet
Some better leg possibility
Pop-up headlights in car mode
Cleaner backpack
No split in hood (can fit a larger autobot symbol)
Gun storage on back/ leg "holster"
2nd gun
Pros Sunsurge:
Lots of chrome
Thinner profile
Nicer head sculpt
More pronounced jetpack
Lower price
Slimmer looking chest
Hand missiles
Overall, the feet and gun storage are the biggest advantages for me for MP-39. However, the overall robot aesthetic of Sunsurge (looking more sleek) make it the winner for me.

Awesome job on this 3rd party Sun Surge/Streaker! On the pros and cons, took 2 hrs and 45 mins to transform him.
The pros; Great design and G1 look from IDW Comics and animation. Transforming him was more than expected challenge. Comes with directions guide. Glad Badcube highlighted the parts, Chip, one blaster, two missile rockets, screwdriver and grey alternate hub caps, spoiler, etc.
The cons; transforming torso and back was nearly a mess. Took another look at directions, you have to fold in the windshield and spoiler (after pulling it apart). More panels and flaps to open. Need screwdriver to pry or push open heel flap (from inside the feet). Minor design flaw under the head. Lined and leveled back tires to line up with panels' holes over pegs near tires to secure in place diagnally (big gap of space under behind Surge's head) than it looks from directions is why I gave it 4 stars. Still worth getting.

This figure is perfect! I can't find anything that I don't like about it. If Takara can top this I would be impressed!

I loved the original masterpiece Lamborghinis and was just thinking there would be a reissue with a different head to make sunstreaker part of the lineup. However, it never happened. But now sun-surge comes along....I couldnt be happier. He has a totally different transformation then the other Lamborghinis in the masterpiece line up. I love him. If i had any argument it is that he seems a slight bit shorter then the sideswipe, but I am still very happy

Sunsurge's posablility is outstanding. It's third party hands away from being best in class in this regard. The chest windshield gives the bot mode character appropriate sleekness and slenderness. The car design is a very thoughtful interpretation of the Countache inspired G1 toy. Transformation is initially unintuitive on account of some new mechanics Badcube had to engineer. The end end result is outstanding.

I feel that Badcube toys look great but they kind of explode open and come back together. This guy looks great and he is solid once transformed but he is all plastic. Not quite as solid as takara mp or fanstoys. This is not a toy you would let a child play with. He is a nice rendition and the addition of Chip is a nice touch. Be ready because Chip easily becomes an ampute. Easily fixed though.

Badcube has done a gr8 job of bringing Sunstreaker to life. I absolutely love the articulation of this character. The joints and poses of this figure are strong and solid. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Badcube's Sunsurge is absolutely a must have I'm telling you please don't sleep on this one.

I bought two and opened one, Sunsurge is worth buying. Whatever they used plastic or pvc it's strong so your safe on that, very articulate so you can pose him in any way you want - be patient transforming him from robot to car there's a lot of parts that you have to put back in place. I can't wait for Omnigonix version of Sunstreaker to come out so we can compare the two.

I love how badcube sets themselves apart from the competition with this figure. Ingenious transformation allow a more cartoon accurate figure in both bot and vehicle forms

Sunsurge is an excellent interpretation of Sunstreaker and BadCube does an excellent adaptation of his G1 aesthetics from the cartoon. The quality of the figure itself is very good. However for his price relative to other companies products which are equally as good or better they could stand to put some diecast in the figure. That or make the price point cheaper. This is a theme that runs throughout all their figures, Brawny, Backland and WarDog are all great figures but are expensive for what they are. MMC/OX Sphinx is cheaper but has a lot of diecast. FansToys have figures not far from his price point that have diecast. Grenadier is cheaper, a bit smaller but has a lot of diecast and Tesla is bit more expensive, but fairly larger and has diecast.

I'm disappointed in mine. Right out of the box the gun breaks.

I have to say, I am absolutely in love with this Sunsurge. This is very well made and a perfect representation of the character. I particularly like the head sculpt and the dead on exact comparison to his twin brother in Countach mode.

This figure is every bit what I was hoping for. It is more cartoon accurate and stands up nicely next to other MP Cars. If anyone has been waiting for a MP style not Sunstreaker this is the figure for you!!!
