My Arkose came in a plain brown box instead of its original box and was missing his roll cage. He still looks great in bot mode but I'm very disappointed in the lack of roll cage and box.

This is a great offering from XTB! Another option if the Fans Toys is a steep for the wallet. A great representation of this G1 Beachcomber.

A wee bit smaller than I was hoping for, BUT, he is an awesome representation.

Not perfect, as others have said, but he looks perfect to me in either mode, and I've learned not to fiddle with most X-Transbots. They're very pretty, but fragile and have ridiculously obtuse transformations. Mine had weak knees as well, but he stands just fine. If you're looking for a really good-looking display piece, this is it. Just don't transform him back and forth too many times.

Love this guy! He looks great... except for the knees which kinda look like chicken legs sometimes. Also, his transform could be a little more solid. I was never really sure if I had everything tabbed in right because even when things lined up, it looked lopsided.

Great toy. The only negative is the double joint on the knee. It makes it doesn't stand as easy.

I’ve had my Arkose for awhile. I love the way he looks, this IS Beachcomber. The accessories are cool, he has little birds, just like on the show! He’s not easy to transform, especially the legs can be tricky. The rollbar does fall off, but it’ll stay on in either mode for posing. If you’re looking for a Masterpiece Beachcomber, this is it. Not perfect, but he does the job. Looks great with all the other Masterpiece figures. All the minicar Autobots are available in MP scale! Do it!

What can I say. Is he the best bot? No. Is he fun to transform? No. But once you are done fiddling with all the bits he is real fun to look at and pose.

Now Beachcomber was one of my favourite mini bots.
This guy definately looks the part in both buggy and robot mode. I also really love the little add ons we get. Too bad I don't wish to break the mushroom peg to replace the gold hand cause it is WAY too tight.
I even noticed a peg had stressed just trying to undo the door at the start of transformation cause of stuck it was in there.
Also the roll bar at the top is loose as hell and just falls off so I guess i will take a page from Emgo and glue it into place.

This Beachcomber is just awesome. Easily one of my favorites in my collection. The details in both modes really pop. Highly recommended!

negatives: quality issues such as paint chipping/imperfections, and even a missing instruction page (see x-transbots facebook for corrections).
positives: challenging transformation, high level of detail in vehicle mode (engine looks amazing), high level of articulation in bot mode. Currently, the definitive MP Beachcomber.
