The set is well worth the money. The detail on the new parts are generally very crisp and almost on par with the official pieces.
Installation is kind of tricky for the arms, but it's just a matter of holding the spring loaded shoulder pieces together while screwing them in. Taking the head apart is a bit tricky since the stock heaed has 2 pegs glued in together. You'd need some kind of plastic cell phone spudger/parts separator to not risk damaging the plastic.
The headsculpt is almost as crisp as the original, although there are some gummy areas like the ear fins or the horns. They moved the screw holes around for the extremely bright LED unit so as a result you can actually see the gundam styled camera on the back of the head now. The battery used here is a CR927, which came included for me.
The matrix is even brighter than the head and you can easily use it as a flashlight. This too is powered by a ridiculously small LED unit using a CR927 battery. Again mine was included, but I've head of people not getting batteries included (from the red prime sets though).
The arms for the set are a huge point of concern for a lot of people. Personally I never minded arm kibble and I actually bought the set for the shorter arms. They have ratcheted elbows and are insanely tight. You have to work the joints a bit before you install it. They also fit the KFC hands in there perfectly too. The chrome pipes are where all their mold effort went to and the pipes have a second layer inside the make the inner pipe look black. It's really sharp looking.
It turns out if you don't like the elbow kibble but also don't like the overly long munky arms, you can simply swap out the shoulders. The shoulders have an additional indentation inside so you can retract the bicep upwards and reduce the length by a centimeter. They also left the original indentation in there too so you can just change the shoulders and go back to the original arm length. You can also transform it perfectly fine with the Shadow Fisher shoulders and the stock forearms.
The axe is also possessed by some metaphysical entity. I cut myself on it a couple times. It hungers for my wallet.
You also get some stickers for the radio in the forearm pieces. They're just pictures of the other autobot MPs so those are useless. You can swap out the logo on the shoulder for decepticon or Korean black optimus.
The set is well worth the money even if you don't use the arm pieces; the LEDs and the axe are great. I highly recommend at least swapping the shoulders out though.
