10 Minibots Set is part of Takara Tomy's Transformers Encore series which features reissues of original Transformers G1 Generation one toys made back in the 80's.  These reissues of the original robots in disguise feature the original toys in retro Japanese G1 style Takara Transformers packaging.

 

Transformers Encore is a series of primarily Transformers G1 reissue figures from Takara Tomy that began in 2007.   These encore reissue figures come in similar style packaging to their original G1 releases and the toys themselves are very similar to the G1 toys.   Recently Takara Tomy has also released several Encore series of toys that feature Beast Wars re-released and remastered figures in the Encore line.

This set may seem expensive, but believe me, its so worth the price!

First of all, every Autobot has received a "make over", adding desperately needed details to their faces, tampographed logos and nice, secure stickers.

Then there's 'Bee. They gave him his G1 accurate face, with blue eyes to boot!

Plus given that Swerve, Tailgate and Pipes have been showing up in the IDW More Than Meets The Eye ongoing comics, there's really no reason NOT to buy this set!

This set is the best of the Encore series. The minibots are all very G1-esque, especially Bumblebee and his awesome new head sculpt! Whether for a new kid just finding out about TFs, or an old die-hard G1 fan, this is the perfect buy at any price!
