The first wave of 2012 Generations figures are here. In most regards, however, they are a bit of a step down in terms of quality. they're pretty tiny all-around with little paint detail. Jazz and Shockwave are still decent though. They both hold up well compared to some other high-grade figures out there. Optimus, however, is a little disappointing. he looks so.....weak. If Hasbro had gone the extra step and made him a voyager, he could have easily been one of the best Primes yet. Not a terrible figure, but certainly not a great one either. The transformations on all 3 are fairly simple (i didnt even need instructions for Optimus and Jazz). Are these guys worth it? If you take them for what they are and don't have your standards too high, then yes they are. If you're picky about their design or the fact that the scale is all wrong, then they are not a must buy. I have high hopes for this line of Transformers, and while i have mixed feelings about these 3, i do think Hasbro can still make it amazing in the long run.

You can see my Prime and Jazz reviews under the seperate listings of each. I'm just going to comment on Shockwave. He is, without question, the best of the three figures. Articulation wise, design, character model accurate, there is a good reason you won't find too many of him in the stores!
Shockwave, like Jazz, is nearly an exact replica of his game model from the DLC for War For Cybertron. He plays a big role in FOC as well, so its well worth it to add him to your collection.
Unlike Jazz and Prime, Shockwave photographs quite well and his purples look very close to the pictures, which is a very good thing.
Finally, his "Gun" fits over his forearm, creating the iconic, "Gun-Arm" of the ever popular G1 Decepticon!
If you're worried about finding Shockwave in the stores, Pick this set up from TFSource and be happy you did so!
