Many people have complained about Wheeljack's new "badass" personality and not the original smooth-talking scientist from G1. Personally, I like a little deviance from the original and I like the Wheeljack character in Transformers Prime. With that said, this figure is very accurate to how the cartoon character looked. The car mode is very nice and has a very speedy feel to it. It can also store the swords on the underside. Finally, a figure that can store its weapons!! Transformation is amazingly engineered and not what I was expecting with a numerous amount of turning to get the legs transformed. In robot mode, Wheeljack looks very show-accurate as well. His head sculpt is very nice in the battle masked form but unfortunately, the light piping is too dark to function. Oddly enough, Wheeljack is most limited in articulation at the arms, as he has no bicep swivel or a double hinged elbow to help wield his swords, rendering many poses unreachable. If you do not like the swords, they can be stored in his backpack via two slots next to his wings (undocumented in the instructions). All in all the robot mode is very nice, though there could be some improvements in the articulation to make the figure a 5/5. This figure scores a 4/5 for me due to the limited articulation at the arms, but this is a must-have in your Transformers Prime collection!

What drew me to this figure was the color scheme. It reminded me of the G1 era, which is akin to the Prime series. Wheeljack is pretty screen accurate, the transformation is solid. The figure is solid. There are two points on the back that split off at an angle to form a samurai deco in robot mode. These are really thin, be careful when transforming him back in robot mode, as they just snap back in place on the roof of the car, and a little force is required the first time around. Double swords are cool, if you've seen the show, they played a big roll in Wheeljack's appearance. There's a spot between each shoulder, that isn't mentioned in the instruction that serves as a nice place to store the swords in robot mode. As with all prime deluxe figures, when you first get them, inspect it, and be careful, they are stiff when you first attempt a transformation. My only gripe about this figure, is the lack of an autobot symbol.
