I come at these from the perspective of someone wou is both into Transformers and HO scale model Railroding, and as a set I am in love. I have all 5 ou the ones that are out (still waiting on 6 to ship), and they are all beautifully painted, have great posing, and their alt modes are so good that when I show them to my model train friends they don't even suspect they arn't regular model trains. By its self however, this one isn't great. The legs are made entirely of flimsy panels that dont hold together in robot mode and are terrifying to move between modes. Also there are reports of this guy coming with a broken knee right out of the box, but mine was undamaged. I recommend the set as a whole, but if you only want one try any of the other 6 first.

Like the previous two releases, a bewilderingly complicated transformation for what seems like should be far simpler. This is not helped by Japanese instructions with postage stamp sized pictures. Also, the release schedule for the individual figures is somewhat irritating since you can't start connecting them to build Raiden.
That said, I'm still pleased with it and still look forward to the next three trains.
