Let me start off by saying that I never really liked Seaspray's G1 design but I liked his personality. This new voyager figure gives us both in an epic package!! The hovercraft mode is just your average hovercraft, but with a bonus that you can fit most scout class figures, including his buddy Breacher, onto the platform behind the main cabin. The propellers in the intakes also spin, but do not actually function when you blow on them. But that is small detailing and its nice that they added the spin function. His hovercraft tubing is cast in a rough plastic to give the texture of real hovercraft tubing, though it is not rubber. Transformation can get a little frustrating as the only way to really start the transformation is to pull everything apart and it can be a little nerve-racking to get it back into vehicle mode. Robot mode is just amazing with a wonderful head sculpt and amazing articulation. The arms are designed to sit forward at an awkward angle but tilting the shoulder back and bending the elbow a little bit helps a lot. There are lots of ratchet joints for solid poses and the feet are designed to swivel allowing goof balance. A very interesting feature is that you can flip out small swimming fins on the feet and the way the head is designed, you can tilt it upward and pretend he is swimming. The backpack is also designed to look like a scuba tank, and these small details bring so much personality from the character to the toy. I must say, a 5/5 and a total improvement over the G1 minibot design. A must-have in your classics collection!!
