ToyGeek code: ROTF-SOUNDWAVE
Transforms 2 ROTF Revenge fo the Fallen was the live action film directed by Michael Bay that took the Transformers series into the real world and was a mega success. The 2nd Film in the Transformers movie franchise the Autobots join the military group nest while the Megatron is reborn and the Fallen and Devastator join the Decepticon ranks ready to take over planet Earth. Each figure in the Transformers: the Movie Toyline offers above average transformation challenges and features a high likeness to their character in the film. Many of the toys are officially licensed by the respective carmaker and when in vehicle mode conceal most elements of their robot form making them a hit with Transformers fans and collectors alike.
Add Transformers the Movie Soundwave to your collection today from Toygeek: Your Source for Transformers Action Figures.

First off, Soundwave has a very cool robot mode but since we never actually saw his robot mode in the ROTF movie, it is somewhat open to debate as to whether the robot mode is movie accurate or not. With that said it has a very nice design with the sonic disks on his chest and the movie-esque curved paneling and tubing designs. Unfortunately Soundwave suffers the same problem as many movie figures with the fact that he has an elbow joint, but his arms are forever stuck in a bicep flex when you use the elbow joint. All in all a decent robot mode. Satellite mode is rather disappointing. It resembles the satellite mode from the movie, but unfortunately there are no pegs or guides on how to position the wings and the other satellite parts. Soundwave's legs also have a hard time staying pegged together and constantly pop apart while trying to position his satellite wings. Same issues with the "space cruiser" mode which is more of just a re-arrangement of the parts and not really a third mode. The huge amount of twists and turns in the parts allows for some customization of an alt mode such as a vehicle mode similar to that of Vector Prime's mode in the 2003-2005 cartoon Transformers: Cybertron. All in all this figure scores a 3/5. The robot mode is cool, but has many kibble issues and the alt mode is more of a mode open to interpretation. I don't recommend this figure unless you like figures that have a lot of display options for vehicle mode.
