A 30th Anniversary box commemorating the Rise of Rodimus Prime? Seems like a no brainer for fans of the 86 animated film. Well...

To start Rodimus is a reissue of the Titanium Series Rodimus. While this line had its pros and cons (I'd take posability over the diecast metal), there's no question that the figure itself is solid (in a literal sense). Rodimus has a lot of heft to him and I suspect I could use him as a weapon. He transforms into the Rodimus Prime truck with no option to separate the trailer from the vehicle. He's only 6 inches so he is not very big for a prime figure - roughly deluxe class. The end result is a small but hefty Rodimus that probably isn't in scale with the rest of your collection.

Galvatron? He's a re-issue of the 2008 Deluxe Galvatron. His colors are wrong. He transforms into a tank (?) and his cannon doesn't look close to accurate. Oh, and for some reason this reissue has a movie decepticon logo instead of the proper animated logo.

Box comes with a die-cast Matrix but neither Transformer can hold it (?) since their hands are molded and not flexible. Goodies in the box include a poster showing off the box artwork and a nice instructions poster for the transforming.

Overall this box is an oddity that seems shoved together from extras sitting in Hasbro's warehouse somewhere. You might buy it if you must have Platinum Edition collectables but there are better figures for each character.
