Yeah the pictures honestly it looks cheap at first but when I got mines in person is not cheap it's worth a buy if you want to make your dinobots pretty cool this set is worth the price so I say buy it by now

Great kit

while i admit i had my doubts its absolutely worth the the try as unlike the dream wave (but still a cool set) it only changes a few things and not make you feel like your going to break it even without the feet and hands he is taller then ever and swords are badass love them and love the more taller grim lock

I'm not sure what I like more, the Grimlock upgrades or the incredible stability that Volcanicus now has! My only complaint is that the individual swords aren't inherently designed to stow on the alt modes, but since you can just plug them into the hands, that's easily overcome. This is a must-have.

This actually did a pretty good job at enhancing the original figures... Really enjoyed the sword combination.... And the add-on replacement parts really help the Grimlock figure.

Enjoying your POTP Dinobots but disappointed at how floppy, skinny and unstable their combined mode is? Here's the solution you're looking for.

First and foremost, the kit includes new thigh and forearm parts for POTP Grimlock, which are fairly easy to install and include the necessary screws. The new thighs manage to improve on the ratchets built into POTP Grimlock leading to tighter joints and an increase in overall height, as well as an additional joint for the combined mode. The new Forearms meanwhile not only help to bulk up Grimlock further, but also improve the low level of articulation his dinosaur mode legs offer.

Outside of Combine mode, the kit offers new platforms for weapon storage for the Dinobots in Dinosaur mode, as well as a cockpit a Titan Master can be stored in. Another bonus is a set of melee weapons for the Dinobots in robot mode, including swords and an axe. The platforms can also be used by the dinobots as shields, the largest being a handheld while the smaller one being arm-mounted.

But the main attraction of this kit undoubtedly is the modified, more stable Volcanicus it allows for. The aforementioned platforms form into new chest, back and pelvis armor for Volcanicus, which not only help to bulk up his unacceptably skinny torso but relocate his top-heavy center of gravity further back. No more forward-leaning volcanicus! The melee weapons can also be combined into a large transcluscent sword to further compliment the design.

The kit is not without some small flaws however. The thighs formed from Grimlock's shins can result in clearance issues if POTP Sludge or POTP Snarl are used as legs, forcing Volcanicus into a crouching pose. This can be resolved by turning the thighs around, but they will need to be turned back around to be able to use the thigh joints. The sword also has some trouble staying together, as the top half is only loosely held in place by the middle half. Finally, although the kit CAN be used without PC-21, which offers new hands and feet for Volcanicus, it is highly recommended PC-21 be used alongside PC-23 to get the full effect of the offered enhancements.

Highly recommended for those wishing to get the full mileage out of their Volcanicus, less so if you buy the POTP Dinobots without the desire to combine them, as the enhancements involved in the latter are minimal at best.

This set makes Volcanicus 20 times better than it was! Installation is fairly easy. Only complaint: I wish the pelvic covering would fold up and become smaller when not in combined mode. Highly recommend!

Love the upgrades. Only one comment... The sword appears to be a bit heavy so it ends up pulling robot's fist out in a standing pose. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Upgrade parts for Grimlock were easy to swap out with really well made instructions.

Makes Volcanicus more solid and looks great too.

Installation was simple enough, materials are decent, but mind your fingers as the edges are rather rough and pointed. The new legs make it a bit taller but balancing isn't that much an issue, the new waist setup is pretty neat, and I love the new forearms/dino legs. Really, all that's keeping this from being a 5 star product in my opinion is all the fiddling I've had to do on mine: sanding down some paint so some components can go together smoother, filing away a bit of the sword tip so they fit together without getting stuck -- minor things. that and some stress marks popped up in the waist piece peg holes after a few times, but that's also fixable. All in all worth your buck and mine, I'm satisfied.

When I saw the newest scans of the sets, I was floored! This upgrade looks like it will not interfere with ANY articulation. A minor source of contention would be the lack of a neck joint for the combined mode. Since the torso is capable of 360 degree motion, it's no biggie.

Just got the last of the Dinobot to form Volcanicus. Can't wait for PC-21 & Pc-23 to perfrct it. I'm hoping to possibly see a shield be made that can change into a large set of wings for flight in robot mode & possible add a long tail, neck, and dragon like head to the shield for a combined beast mode. The Jinjiang Dinoking has a combined beast mode & I know Perfrct Effect could do better. Volcanicus and possibly Abominus are the only Combiners that could have a combined beast mode due to their animal forms. All the other Combiners are vehicles that would not be able to form a proper combined form.
