When I purchased this, I expected a more complex version of the studio series Blackout/Grindor mold, and, while similar, the mpm is FAR different. Not only is his alt mode clean from virtually all angles, but the paint is fantastic too. Clean, not too overbearing, and effective where it needs to be. The articulation is fantastic as well, even featuring a waist swivel, something the original leader lacked. The engineering, while FAR more complex than his leader counterpart, is relatively intuitive and makes sense, and surprisingly didn’t take long to figure out. The main attraction is absolutely the robot mode, being roughly 10 inches tall, ( give or take, since digitigrade legs.) so he definitely has a shelf presence. His sheer mass is nothing to scoff at too, considering his width and general bulk. His articulation is close to the leader, but with several quality of life improvements to make posing a more stable, solid experience. (Say goodbye to the floppy shoulder connectors on the original!) combined with great balance, he can stand in virtually any pose you’d need him to pull off. Overall, a fantastic release, I HIGHLY recommend.
