Out of all the third party and masterpieces I have this one has to be in my top 10. It’s fun to transform, looks so good, and I love the small details. If I were to nitpick I would say I just wish there were some diecast to it.

Title says it all. But I'll say more: The quality of the plastic and the engineering are top of the line. Fun to transform, and a great representation of the Diaclone figure. This is my third Masterpiece figure, and I cannot wait to get more!

I already reviewed the Skids figure that this is based on and my 1-word summary for that figure is: outstanding. And this one is no different. The sculpt, paint and transformation are all great, I love that this design is getting some much needed love from Takara. The main differences between this and Skids are the hood and grill sections in car mode and the head in robot mode and, of course, the color scheme. The differences to the car are because he's the City R model, not the City Turbo. I know he's based on a Diaclone figure that wasn't released in The Transformers, but the head sculpt and color scheme give me strong Optimus Prime vibes, which isn't a bad thing. He also comes with more accessories than Skids, which helps make up for the fact that he's mainly a redeco with a few retooled bits. It's annoying that he can't hold all of his guns at once, but they at least make for varied display options. He's a strong figure and I was able to order both him and Skids in the same order and I can still afford to pay my rent. So, kudos to Takara for a fantastic release.
