This figure has a lot of upside. It looks amazing -- great colors and lots of details. It has some real heft thanks to die-cast parts. Although some joints feel a bit loose they actually hold pretty well. No issues getting my copy to stand up.
The extras and accessories are nice. The stand is very handy for displaying dino mode. The extra set of wings with a matte finish are a nice inclusion although the shiny metallic finish wings look better overall with the rest of the figure.
I had some issues with transformation (see below) but once you get through it going to/from bot/alt mode is relatively straightforward.
- Several people mentioned one knee that simply will not fold over backwards for dino mode. I also had to loosen a screw to get this part to transform. It seems like there is some systematic issue with this mold that one knee is wonky.
- One of the dino mode feet that clips in around the knee in bot mode also took more force to get in place than I felt comfortable with but it got there without major issue.
- Another issue others had: gold flaps that tab in just above the knee/foot in bot mode were also difficult to get into place for me but again I was able to do it without major issue.
- Finally, the instructions can be confusing, especially the chest. The whole chest section pushes into the center, not just the two panels that pivot outward.
This is my first FT bot and overall I am very pleased despite some QC issues. I would recommend this figure even if it takes some time to learn its quirks!

He looks great and appeasing to the eye (especially on his stand) but the legs were so tight at the joints I couldn't transform him without taking a screw out of the knee joint. Kinda disappointing considering the higher cost compared to other lines IMO...

Awesome figure. Great shelf presence, and weighty, due to diecast thighs and internals. Slightly loose R shoulder and L hip and the gold leg tabs don't tab in, disappointing for a $260 collector's piece.
The GP version wasn't available, but even if it were, I prefer the more toon accurate color scheme and face sculpt of FT Soar. I already have GP Chrome Not Snarl and plan to go GP for the rest of the Dinobots since they are of grander scale. FT "Soar" is smaller than the rest of them so him being the sole FT figure should work.

Great figure, but ultimately, I had to remove a spring from his second knee due to the fact it was impossible to bend without damaging the figure. Now, it is fully functional and looks amazing.

Overall, a great figure. A little too much use of die cast in the top body which tends to make the figure fall over. Some tolerance issues where some limbs are loose, so he doesn't stand well. The neck on mine came installed backwards, so his head didn't sit flush. It caused some strain and his head snapped off the first time I tried transforming him.

Love FT's version of Swoop. It is done right and it is solid. the only problem that people need to be careful of is during transformation. The gold piece that hold his Dino foot is very fragile. it can break very easily if you not careful.

Another sturdy/solid figure. Excelent use of diecast, pays a great tribute to the G1 character.

What can I say? FREAKING AMAZING..The level of detail on Swoop IMO blows away the Takara Dinobot Grimlock. The whole chest is diecast. Its a little tricky to transform but wow $199 well spent. Fans Toys is a force to be reckon with.

This is hands down Swoop all the way! I got this figure because of my fiancée. The Dinobots are her favorites, so I couldn't pass this up. Fans Toys Soar is an awesome representation of Dinobot Swoop. Next to my other Masterpieces, Soar looks like he stepped out the G1 cartoon. Great job Fans Toys! Too bad Takara is coming with their Masterpiece Shockwave, because the Quakewave reissue was definitely on my "to get list".

As a devoted Dinobot fan, I was pretty bummed that my MP Grimlock didn't have the rest of his team standing next to him on my shelf. When I saw some of the video reviews of Scoria and Soar I decided to take the plunge and grab them. I couldn't be more pleased with what I got. Soar is a fantastic figure and fits perfectly with the Masterpiece line, in fact the quality almost puts them to shame. There were some issues with overly tight shoulder joints right out of the box, but nothing a little WD-40 didn't fix. All the other joints are nice and smooth, with lots of articulation and excellent ratcheting. He's also loaded with diecast, but very well balanced. His transformation is kinda basic, with most of the complexity being in the legs, but I don't see what they could have done about that, Swoop's conversion has always pretty simple no matter what you do. He looks amazing in both modes regardless. He looks almost just like the character model from the cartoon, with a few extra details for style. Soar was my first 3rd party purchase and he sets a good precedent. I already have Scoria and Sever on preorder and I'm saving my pennies for Stomp.

This is the best looking MP scale of cartoon Swoop available. He looks amazing and has a ton of die-cast which makes him pretty heavy. My only complaint is his right wing joint is looser than the left one but it is a very minor issue. Absolutely love this figure. I can't wait for the rest of FT's dinobots to be released!!

What else can I say that others haven't already? FT-05 Soar IS an absolute masterpiece! The slick box art (and even the quality the box is made of) makes you second guess even wanting to open it. But I did. And once I slid out the embossed styro shell and popped the factory tape, I removed the lid to find a truly imposing figure! At that moment I knew I made the right choice with my money. Everything about this toy bleeds quality in every way, from the presentation to the final product. I missed the initiation with Quakewave so I bought Soar to see what all the buzz with Fans Toys was about. And now I can say for myself that they have definitely raised the bar in the 3rd Party market and have me back for sure. It's really a testament to how figures of this price point should be done, as far as actual quality and the amount of accessories you get. With Soar I feel that every dollar I spent went to the right places. What's more impressive to me than any other characteristic is that Fans Toys' designs bring back that childhood feeling of excitement of opening up your favorite figure, except now they actually look like you remember them. And that's the effect a good toy should have on you: making you feel more than satisfied, yet eager for what's next. I will easily be pre-ordering Tesla and the rest of the DiBots. TakHas should take a page out of the FT playbook and learn something from these guys, or at least hire them. A+ 5*****

There are a lot of 3rd party companies putting out Masterpiece scaled figures, but FnasToys has really captured the spirit of the masterpiece line. Soar, to me, is a perfect example what can be done to produce a beautiful, high quality figure, htat perfectly represents the G1 animated character. He looks as though he stepped out of the TV and into my case. I have nothing bad to say about this figure, All the joints are tight, he feels good in your hand, and the transformaitno is fun and intuitive. Get one today!

i really like this Soar only thing i don't like is the hands should have been grey like in the cartoon and its not that big deal but just saying

I have to give it to Fans Toys on this one! Perfectly executed... Amazing paint application, articulation and solid/tight design. Anxiously awaiting Sever! A shout out to FT for continuously improving and taking care of your fans - keep it up!
