This is a fabulous toy with only minor flaws. I own the 2022 reissue, purchased from TFSource.
For starters, this figure looks and feels fantastic. The colors look great in hand. The figure is primarily plastic but has some real heft to it and feels quite solid. It does not feel fragile like many other toys out there (3P or otherwise). Although I'm always cautious when transforming toys I did not have the same fear of breakage I have with lots of others.
Truck mode looks awesome with those pink windows. Rubber tires are always a nice bonus. I do wish there was a more solid trailer hitch, however, but it's workable. I was impressed enough with the core robot mode but the combined mode is another level. And I'll never complain about an even decent base mode.
The transformation instructions seem very intimidating with 200+ steps, but that covers all three modes and many steps are very simple.
Overall the transformation steps are pretty straightforward, *except* for one step for combined mode where you are basically rolling the cab up into a ball. There are a lot of moving parts -- both parts that you need to move and ones you don't want to move that keep coming untabbed. Why does it seem like these toys always have to have one transformation step that takes as long as all of the others put together? Or maybe it's just me.
Despite that one troublesome step, it is worth it. The combined robot looks great and imposing and is fun to pose. He's a bit top heavy so it may take some fiddling to get him balanced but it's not too bad to keep him standing.
I have never owned the G1 inspiration for this figure but it feels like a worthy successor. This is my first Fans Hobby figure and it will not be my last.

I love this guy. The colors on him just pop, he is one of my favorite figures to look at. The transformation into combined mode is a bit of a pain, but not bad enough to keep me from giving this guy 5 stars.
