The figure is just tremendous, fun to handle pose and just mess around with, few flaws with some of the pegs but otherwise i love this figure. Aswell as being my 1st tf 3p figure, well worth it

This figure was one of my highly anticipated 3rd party releases for the year, and I was super happy to be able to get my hands on one. The plastic quality is amazing and highly durable, and so far with the lack of paint it hasn't chipped at all, though even with little to no paint the figure still looks stunning. The detail and sculptwork of the figure is extremely accurate to the film and holds true to the character, and even the vehicle mode with the opening doors and detailed interior is an unnecessary feature but is still much appreciated! This purchase is one that I don't regret at all and one that I'd highly recommend to others!

If your looking for a Baybot in toy form that is the exact replica of the movie then look no more. Very good articulation and pose ability as well as the transformation is intuitive. I am totally satisfied with my purchase and looking forward to more from DX9 in the future like maybe a Crosshair figure!!!

The car mod on this figure is possibly the closest to perfection one can be for a transformer. There is a sculpted interior and amazing detail. The robot mode somehow manages to have no kibble, great pose ability, and a very cool look to it. The accessories further sell it, as the guns look very cool, and the blast effect is nice. The human figure is also very well made, as it holds together well and is very pose-able for a figure of its size. I would highly, highly recommend this figure, as even I, who doesn't care about the source of its design, loves this figure.

I bought two La Hires because the first one broke, it was my fault but the figure also had quality control issues. On both figures the gray hinge assembly on the front that connects his upper and lower torso has a pin in it. On both of my figures the pin stuck out on one side preventing the hinge from fully collapsing into the cut out in his lower torso. I didn’t realize on the first figure and broke a hinge connected to the windshield. I’ve seen reviews on YouTube that have mentioned not being able to fully collapse the torso hinge assembly, so I’m assuming it’s an issue on most if not all of the La Hire figures. On my second copy I was able to file down the pin, and also a bit of plastic on the sides of the hinge just to be sure, and now my figure can fully collapse the hinge assembly and connect the upper and lower torso without any gaps. Anyone buying this figure, be extra careful with that gray hinge connecting the torso pieces together. If you don’t mind having a small gap on your figure, don’t force the hinge. If you want everything to sit flush without any gaps I suggest sanding or filing down the pin, you could try hammering it in but I didn’t want to risk breaking my figure so I just patiently filed it down with a small nail file for a couple of hours while watching Netflix. Other than that the figure is near perfect, my figures had some tolerance issues like one of my door wings had a loose pin joint compared to the other door, but nothing else that impacted the transformation or posing.

The absolute best hot rod figure that is out there by far, clean transformation, you can barely even tell it can transform when all is said and done, great plastic, doesn't feel cheap what so ever and just all around solid figure. You could shake this thing to next Tuesday and it is as stiff as an old married couple who doesn't tip after they eat out.

Absolutely amazing figure. The transformation is pure black magic

Not a big fan of the movie but I do like the designs of some of the bots in it an Hot Rod is one of them, although I prefer the 86 movie version more.
Pretty complex transformation at first but the result is a excellent looking figure, close to the movie as I think you can get. Alt mode is just as good.

La Hire (aka Hot Rod) is such a complex figure. The engineering of him is a fun brain game.

I have always admired 3rd party companies for their ability to take the seemingly impossible designs of the Bayformer films and make them possible. The transformation, while being a bit of a plastic explosion, results in an extremely solid and posable figure with no kibble. Though, I do highly recommend looking up a transformation video online rather than figuring out the included instructions. Definitely worth a buy as the build quality exceeds official masterpiece for a much lower price. It even pays homage to the Human Alliance figures as the vehicle mode features opening doors, seats, and even comes with a figure to sit inside it.

I wasn't sure about this figure, but gave it a shot because I thought it looked better than the other "hot rod" third party release. This thing is solid, has great engineering and looks amazing in both modes. The accessories are nice too--but La Hire is enough. As far as movie-formers go, this is the best I've seen. Worth every penny, and I hope future releases are at this level or better--i will be grabbing those. Just an amazing effort--no complaints here.

Avoid this cheap product, door broke straight away, cant do anything about it now, UT lost my business.

I’ve been looking at this for almost a year now, waiting for it to get released, and man, the wait was definitely worth it.

I have both unique toys challenger and Peru kill, and they’re both amazing, but the quality of this one, I would have to say is better. The plastic is not cheap and it feels sturdy.

The transformation like the other figures is complex but not hard. The car mode is amazing, no gaps, no pieces that don’t fit, and the robot mode looks just like the movie bot.

I’m buying another one just to have, so I can display both modes.

When I first saw this, I got it confused with TFEVO Hot Fire and dismissed it on account of a scathing review I'd seen months ago. Well, thank goodness my curiosity eventually won over and I looked this up on the 'Tube anyways.

This figure is a blessing, a gift from the Primes bestowed upon us mere minicons. Every moment of my experience with it makes me smile. The professional box impressed me, then made me laugh with the obtuse description on the back. Out of the packaging, the contours, slick paint, and mixture of materials continuously assert dominance. The only downside is now my UT Peru Kill looks like a concrete brick in comparison.

The transformation is rather frightening, both in its top level engineering as well as how it challenges you with its unpredictable intricacy. Instructions were a must, and of course they aren't very clear. Nevertheless, the way all the components cleverly come together and eliminate nearly all kibble made me go WOW after every step. Don't be put off - this is a process to look forward to, not dread.

The robot mode is superb. The proportions, balance of color, articulation, and overall playability is leaps and bounds beyond Peru Kill. Even though he does lack proper ankle tilt, all the other joints make any conceivable pose a breeze. The included guns are excellently sculpted and he holds them like a champ, though they are somewhat lacking in paint.

The only other figure I have to be in the same league, perfect and locked in forever to be close at-hand, is MP Sunstreaker (another Lambot, go figure). Do yourself a favor and pick this up. Oh, and his head looks like a bicycle helmet. You're welcome!

Like most of us, I bought and enjoyed Peru Kill (Movie Lockdown) from DX9, so I had high hopes for the similar looking La Hire. Though he wasn't the best character (or in the best movie) Hot Rod was interesting enough and a nice sleek Lamborghini.

DX9 has another movie-bot winner here, he's nicely complex with a multi step but smooth and cohesive transformation, a solid and sleek car mode and a faithful and well articulated robot mode.

He comes with two good looking guns including his distinctive 'time gun' along with a yellow blast effect and a removable clip that fits either gun. He also comes with a mini figure of a movie character - not quite the size of the Human Alliance figures, but fits well in the auto mode (opening doors and poseable seats inside help).

The build is good quality, with metal parts in key places and a nice structure - there are some tight fits that require precision transforming but nothing seems flimsy or prone to breakage. Watch the side mirror right out of the box, though. I had to glue one into place.

If you like complex transformations, beautiful sleek car modes and decent play value - even if you didn't care for 'The Last Knight' - La Hire is another great offering from DX9.

Great quality. Complex but not frustrating transformation. Excellent movie accuracy. Awesome weapons. The little Vivian figure can even sit in the driver's seat. What's not to love?
