ToyGeek code: DS02-GIANT-AXE
This figure is part of the Devil Saviour combiner called Troublemaker, which will be a complete set of seven figures combining to create Troublemaker. A very interesting alternative over the ongoing Studio Series version.
This is a very impressive and detailed rendition of Scavenger with a lot of details and a beautiful deco with some dust and weathering. The design has got some liberties and modifications compared to the original movie design, but the result looks great in both robot and alt mode.
Note: Other figures shown sold separately.

Ratchet joints, flaps; and not enough clearance for the transformation from vehicle mode to robot mode to combiner mode. I plan to get another one, since the last one broke on me while transforming it.

I would like to give 5 stars to Devil Saviour robots, however I will give them three stars for the following reasons:
Pros:
- Great detail in all the modes.
Cons:
- The fragile parts are extremely fragile while the stiff parts are extremely stiff and could affect your fragile parts.
- It is very easy to find defects in your robot when you receive them.
In the case of Giant Axe, I think it is the most accurate representation of the movie and the Terex RH400: If you take a look in slow motion at the movie, you will notice that Demolishor looks a lot like the Giant Axe transformation in robot mode; and, if you take a look at pictures of Terex RH400, you wukk see that it resembles a lot the aforementioned vehicle. However, the bad part is that the slide that holds the big wheels in the appropriate position for each mode is so stiff that you can accidentally break the rails or other parts of the robot while transforming the robot from one mode to another. On the defects section, I ordered two of this guys: one of them came with the pin that holds the hook for split in combine mode missing. The other guy, came with one of the clips that hold the arm broken. Fortunately, TFSource answered in regards for the first one and the robot includes replacements for the clips and the manual explains very well how to replace them.
In conclusion, mixed thoughts about it: Good detail, but quality assurance is not that good.

This figure is a lot better than DS-01 Split. It’s solid and “easier†to transform. I say “easier†in quotes because the joints are so stiff and and some point I pinched myself and broke skin and bled. My big issue I had was that out of the box he was missing one of his connector joints, it was just completely missing. I contacted Rob and he sent me a replacement part ASAP. it was simple enough to install, just had to remove a few screws. But the fact that I had to remove screw and disassemble the figure means that the factory just totally forgot to install the part. But since TFSource was able to resolve my missing part issue, I am going to give this figure 4 instead of 3 stars. I know these Devil Saviour figures are a lot less on Chinese sites but I knew they have a lot of issues so I decided to pay more and get them from TFSource because their customer service is fast and reliable.

You’ve probably heard mixed things about this guy. Some hate him like Split, whereas some say he’s a miracle from God compared to split lol. In my opinion, he’s a solidly made figure that serves the purposes he’s supposed to. His vehicle mode is beautiful, but his robot mode is incredibly flawed: Not in function, but in looks. He does not look very similar to his on screen counterpart, his wheels are way too small, and he has more shoulder kibble than I could’ve imagined having previously seeing pics. Lastly, the price they ask for this particular figure is a little steep for what you get. For this much money, I have come to expect more die cast and bulk, but where it lacks in heft, it makes up for in paint and a overall build. Besides, at the end of the day we all know why we’re buying these guys: For the big boy. And that’s where this guy shines. He will be glorious in combiner form.
All in all, if you’re already in for this set, I can enthusiastically say that this is a figure you have to look forward to, because he is fun to mess around with. If you’re on the fence about starting with these guys, I’d say it’s worth it if you love the movie devastator as much as I do. The price of admission here is high, but the payoff is looking up to be worth it for me.
