Sadly there is a tiny plastic tab on Scrapper & when it breaks down falls mighty Devastator.

This is the kind of devastator figure that we as kids always wanted, the size of a Masterpiece without the price tag. My only complaint is I wish it had more options but the 3rd party companies have taken care of that.

This was purchased as a gift for my birthday. They seem very fragile but I like the set. I'm going to leave them in robot form and display them because I'm afraid if I transform them I may break them. I'm a big guy and very heavy handed. I had to squeeze Primes gun into his hand and Megatrons barrel falls off his back easy..overall I like the set and I'm glad I got it

I dig him! I love how bulky he is. The only downside to that is his shoulders are so bulky there isn't much room for posibilty options. Also I feel the front feet should have been as big as the rear portions are. Compared to the rest of his size they look sort of out of place in that regards. It comes with a pretty cool Instructions/reversed Comic Book and a good card stock Bio card. Instructions are simple and straight forward because he is pretty easy to transform. The joints feel perfect. Nothing seems restricted and all parts "lock"(as the lock symbol in the instructions show) into place as they should. I like the second head choice better,Personally. It's not easy to replace though. It's on there really tight. Weapons are good and the plastic feels really durable. The Alt mode is solid as well. I custom paint figures and plan on doing a complete tear down and a late 70's into 80's military style Camouflage paint job.

This hands rock. They are built durable and solid. And have the right amount of tension to each joint. As to really hold on tight to what ever you want them to hold on to. And the plastic is thick, and Smith to the touch. Just like the early 80's tf's where made. l Definitely recommend this upgrade product. if you're looking for something that looks good, and is well built. And won't break or snap, if you change up posse's. Or just want him to do some crazy stunts. Like stand on his head, or hold a beer. Lol.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
The moment I opened the box I knew I'd made a good choice. That mix of ridiculous green and deep purple plastic punched me right in the childhood, and before I even lifted the trucks out of the cardboard I was 7 years old again. I love when Transformers come in vehicle mode and these look exceptional.
Also, I don't know if it was a mistake of some kind, but I was shocked when a sticker sheet dropped out of the box. I was NOT expecting this, and after some research, I'm still not sure it should be expected in these North American releases.. But dang if it is... Thanks Hasbro!
INDIVIDUAL BOTS:
Wicked!.. It's understandable when individual attention is sacrificed for a better combined mode, but I feel it's been kept to a minimum here.. Each robot is very carefully designed, with a lot more detail than some are giving credit for, and each displays a beautiful head sculpt.. Aside from poor ol Scrapper's lack of elbows in this version, individual articulation is really great. I get amped for ankle tilts, and all six of these guys have it. You can wide-leg stance all of them if you wish, with feet flat on the ground... Lined up, they look every bit as iconic as their combined form... I'm sure we all bought this for Devastator, but mine may see equal time spent displayed as the Constructicons.
COMBINED MODE:
Combining Devastator goes beyond the typical plug-in limbs. There's a lot of figure to figure overlapping and tabbing during the combination process, and the first time through I missed a few tabs... It was Christmas morning, I was excited, it happens... But assuming you get them all, he holds together very securely. I even found them a little difficult to pull back apart. A+
For his size and weight, he's surprisingly articulate and unbelievably sturdy. The ratchet joints in his hips and upper legs are heavier than anything I've seen, helping him hold some impressive poses. The arms on mine will slowly droop if holding out his rifle (or smaller transformers, lol), but every other part of him stays where it's put. I read about people having trouble with the ankle tilting, but mine feels really stiff in both legs.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
There are a few versions of this guy now, and I chose this one over the SDCC or UW options for two reasons.. 1) I prefer the color layout.. 2) At this price point, combined with Perfect Effect's PC-06 and 07, I feel we're getting a lot more for roughly the same price total.
Are there issues? A few.. but mostly nit-picky stuff having nothing to do with quality, and everything to do with personal design opinions. Most of which remedied by Perfect Effect's efforts.
My collection has needed Devastator for so long, and in hind sight, I can't believe how close I came to buying any of the previously released 3rd party representations... To each their own, but for my money, this is the be-all end-all Devy.

This is probably the best and biggest Devastator figure we will ever see that is actually a transforming toy. And closest to scale with the other figures. While a company like sideshow may at some point make a 30" super detailed statue of him (which would be awesome, check out their Sentinel and Galactus statues,) this figure is something you can actually take apart and put together.
I can't fault it for not being super detailed like the MP figs because it doesn't belong to that line. He still looks awesome and is fun and easy to put together.
The only fault I can find is they could of added some more articulation to the pieces and given them individual accessories. Which is available with the Japanese version for only a 50% markup.
Devestator already understandably costs more for how much your getting. But I think for what we are already paying those extra features should have been included.

It is masive, and it is awesome, the transformation process its fast and the piece have quality, my complains is the color green and the lack of detail in each figure.

I thought long and hard before purchasing this set, doing a lot of research and watching a lot of reviews in the process. After I decided to purchase it, I couldn't be happier with my decision. It's not a perfect set, but hardcore TF fans would be pleased to have this as part of their collection. Most of what I consider to be flaws (no guns for the individual bots, no elbow on Scrapper, etc.) can be remedied with the Perfect Effects kits. All joints are tight in all modes, and the poseability of the combined bot is better than imagined. Online reviews do not do this set justice, as it is definitely a sight to behold once in-hand.

This is the reboot Devastator has always deserved. The combined form is heavily articulated and accurate, with only a few bits here and there that could have been done better (component robot's elbows, but I can overlook that).
There are some things to be wary of when buying this figure though.
For starters, Mixmaster has a notoriously fragile "heel tilt" in his leg mode, but it only seems to be a problem when he is tilted too far. The arm bits from Scavenger and Bonecrusher (the arm component robots) can be flimsy; Devastator has problams keeping his hands up on his right arm for some reason but I can address this on my own.
their lack of weapons in this iteration of CW Devastator is a little sad but I can overlook it personally, as at least 2 of them can still use Devastator's cannon (broken down into its two parts of course).
Still, despite these faults, I'm still pretty satisfied with this figure. I wish he wasn't -quite- as much bigger than the other CW combiners, but I suppose that had to be to justify the pricetag, ha ha.
Would recommend to other Transformers fans.

I received my Devastator in the mail 7-14-15 and from the moment I looked at the box I know I was going to love it. Its stiff, everything locks together tight, and its just a masterpiece. In my personal opinion, if you are going to get Devastator, dont hesitate.
