Compared to the quality of Downthrust and Skystrike who make up the legs of Superitron, this is a significant step down.
This figure was made mostly with the combine form in mind. The plastic is very thin and the figure is light. This is great for Superitron's arm, but it fails the robot and alt modes.
The figure just feels overly flimsy, and most of the transformation tabs and pins don't lock in well. In addition, the joints are loose and wobbly. At least the wings aren't loose like on Catapult.
What makes this figure worse than Catapult though is that the paint is too thick on the figure and ended up causing a breakage on first transformation. The figure has a beautiful metallic red paint job; however, it's far too thick for a figure of this size, and ends up appearing gummy.
The worst part of the paint job is that it should not be on the main armature that moves the tail of the plane around during transformation. This armature is coated in thick paint as well, and the paint entered the space around the metal pins that connect two rods of plastic together. This ended up cracking and breaking the joint of the armature on first transformation. Catapult does not have this issue since there's no paint on his armature. However, this was just sloppy work on poor Flyfire. I was able to somewhat fix the armature with super glue, but it's not the best.
Flyfire is my favorite of the characters on the Superitron team, so having him break on first transformation is very disappointing for me.
Zeta Toys, you can do better than this.
