so many thoughtful touches in this one; Magic Square uses this great plastic in their figures; it's durable but flexes just enough to forgive, and the fine "matte" texture lets the seams blend where panels fit together. transformation is fun to figure out, Matrix compartment ends up elsewhere than you might expect and you might want to remove the matrix when transforming as it tends to pop out anyway.I appreciate the dedication to cartoon proportions, rather than giving him huge arms just to appear more "badass" or powerful. Just a handsome Sunbow Prime, the back of the robot is also cartoon accurate. The only thing you might find dissatisfying visually is the hinging arms, where you'll see gaps when bending knees elbows and midsection. I don't know how this would be remedied engineering wise without compromising the number of poses the figure could do. Truck mode is great and satisfying, legs/ back wheels are often overlooked but aside from various tabs/ pegs and holes to facilitate transformation back there, it's a convincing if "cell animated" cabover mack truck.
you have a number of fun options with the trailer, combat deck is detachable to operate as its own independent rolling unit and also can detach the missile launchers although I'm still experimenting with whether this has any function or if I'm just dissassembling my toy.
Roller unit can pull the trailer. I am unsure if the cockpits and seats can still seat diaclone figures but I imagine one could fit them in. Oddly, Roller has the pegs that would plug him into the combat deck but there are no holes to fit him into.I did not expect a spring loaded gimmick as in the original toy but he just kind of rolls around loose in the trailer with no "home base". An odd omission when the combat deck otherwise handles and unfolds very similarly to the original toy aside from the detaching gimmick.
Includes the parts to turn prime into "Starscream in disguise" as seen in Megatron's Master Plan, and a damaged face to re-enact his heroic battle in Transformers the movie, plus the jetpacks borrowed from Sideswipe in the pilot episodes, although I'm unsure if these are able to interact with magic square's sideswipe as that figure isn't in my collection and is sadly a rare find nowadays.
