I got this one on the basis of how much I liked it's mould mate, "Athena". The product photography doesn't do Nightwalker justice, especially those heavily tinted windows which actually translucent but look like solid plastic in the photography. The colour scheme is striking, and just like Athena, the face is very strong and likeable. But these things aren't meant to just stand or sit there, and that's where the figure stumbles a bit. The transformation is finicky and a bit hair-raising, e.g. the very tight clearances, especially on the leg transformation. Once in robot mode, he is difficult to find his centre of balance especially with more neutral poses, again due to issues with clearance, this time in the feet. Also, the parts forming kibble on the back makes the character a bit harder to manipulate when trying to pose and balance. Interestingly, Ace Hitter is a marked improvement over this design, and I had none of these troubles. That being said, I'm quite glad to have this figure, and he does look lovely alongside the other bots released so far in the set.

Awesome service, Awesome Figure, package did come with a slight Tear damage...other than that, very satisfied!!! would totally recommend!!!

This is (of course) Fans Hobby's take on G1 Headmaster Nightbeat. He's a retool of their Athena (Minerva) figure, which is consistent with the G1 version, as the original toys also shared a mold.

The only differences in parts in car mode is that Nite Walker doesn't have the light bar that Athena had, but the cars are otherwise the same, aside from the colors. However, in robot mode, Nite Walker has a number of new parts for his arms, legs and torso.

The transformation is the same as Athena, and it's really enjoyable. I've transformed my Athena figure a lot, so I knew how to transform Nite Walker right out of the box. The only minor issues I have with mine are that the rear view mirrors are a little loose and the piece that forms his lower back doesn't tab in so well. But, that may be due to mold degradation as this is now the second retool of the Athena mold. But, those issues are minor compared to how much I love these figures.

The paint all looks very nice, except for some of the yellow bits, which would have benefited from another coat. I am happy to report that his flame details are painted, so you just have optional stickers for the license plates, some interior details for car mode and the area that shows his tech specs.

So, overall, this is another excellent Fans Hobby release. Bottom line, if you like Athena, get Nite Walker. If you don't, then this will offer nothing better for you.
