Now I will admit I'm a this is my favorite Grimlock design, but even with that said this figure is so amazing. With an awesome combination of die-cast and good plastic, amazing paintwork, and phenomenal sculpting, this figure is all I can want from a Grimlock toy. The best part is the dino mode is actually amazing, an often rare sight with Grimlock figures (even though the dino mode is the most important mode for Grimlock). A little wide when you look at it from the front, but not too bad at all. The robot mode is still great as well, but the dino mode is where it's at. One of the best figures of all time in my personal opinion.

This is no doubt one of the best Transformer figures I've ever had the pleasure to handle. I love Grimlock's live action design and I'm happy to have it in figure form. This figure isn't perfect, but I still find myself unable to keep my hands off of it.
Pros-
• Phenomenal paint work
• Awesome sculpting
• Almost perfectly captures Grimlock's on-screen look in terms of silhouette and proportions in both modes.
Cons-
• Right out the box almost everything in the legs and arms were super tight and I was afraid of breaking the thing. Fortunately I was able to take Grim apart and shave down some of the parts to reduce friction. The joints are great now.
• Some spots like in the fingers, tail/back skirt, and shoulders were a bit too loose for my liking, but I've slightly fixed the fingers with a LITTLE bit of super glue. The tail doesn't really bother me as much now. But the shoulders... Unfortunately over time as I would move the ENTIRE shoulder it would turn the screw and loosen up the shoulders by itself. So to fix this I just super glued the shoulder part connecting to the main body. Fortunately I still have that other joint in the shoulders so I can still move the arms out and this doesn't really affect the dino mode either.
• In dino mode Grim is slightly wider and more chunky than his on-screen appearance, but I don't really mind.
• The staff part for the main mace doesn't store along with the rest in dino mode and the staff is slightly warped so it has a slight curve.
All in all, I love the thing. It has its problems, but I've remedied the more prominent ones. So, 4 out of 5 stars for me.

I have officially transformed this item only three times. Why? Because the joints and tabs on the legs of the robot mode when converting to dino mode, are RIDICULOUSLY tight! It is currently displayed in dino mode with the Optimus pegged on his back, and I will likely never transform it again. I say this more as a warning to would be collectors of bayverse transformers, rather than a blatant bashing of the figure. Both modes look amazing, but the process of transforming it is a literal workout. My advice: Choose a mode, pose it to your liking, and leave it as it currently is.

I'm not sure if I will ever transform this figure into robot mode - and if I do I may write a more extensive review - but he looks SO good on display in dino mode!!
